2011 Registration

Sherwood Youth Football is a full-contact football program available to 3rd-8th graders (grade as of fall 2011) living in the Sherwood School District boundaries.  SYFA is a member of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League.

Registration Overview

Registration opens April 14, 2011 and closes June 15, 2011.  For registration to be complete, the SYFA Registrar must receive ALL of the following (completed and signed) by June 15, 2011:

1. Registration Online.  If possible, please register online. Registration closes June 15th. If you can not register online. click to download the form.
2. $75 Fundraising Deposit.   The end-of-season player gift is included in this deposit.
3. TVYFL Player Contract.  Available in the attachment to your online registration confirmation e-mail.  SAVE the confirmation e-mail and print the attachment. READ YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL!!!
4. TVYFL Approved Medical Release
5. SYFA Expectations Contract

Paperwork should be mailed to: SYFA, PO Box 92, Sherwood, OR  97140. No player may practice or receive any equipment until registration is complete and all of their paperwork has been turned in.

Wait List

It is SYFA’s goal to place all interested Sherwood youth on a football team.  Due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., field space, number of coaches, etc.) wait-listing may be required.  Players will be prioritized based the date the registration form with payment is received.  For complete registrations received by June 15th, returning players have priority over new players.  If a player’s registration is not complete by June 15, 2010, that player will be automatically wait-listed.  The automatic wait-listing applies to all players whether returning or new.

Fundraising Deposit

SYFA is proud to be a no-pay-to-play organization.  In order to meet expenses, however, we require participation in fundraisers.  The fundraising deposit is a pre-payment for your first 15 car wash tickets.  When you receive these tickets in August, they are yours to keep, give away, or sell.  If you choose to sell, you will re-coup your $75

Refund Policy

If a player’s registration is cancelled before June 15, 2011, $65 is refundable.  No refunds will be given after June 15, 2011.  Payment Deferrals are available – please contact the SYFA Registrar if you have questions about this program.

On-Line Registration Instructions

SYFA is offering on-line registration for the 2011 season.  IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, PLEASE REGISTER ON-LINE:

• From our website's home page, click on the yellow button that says “Register Here”. 
• You will be directed to create an account for the on-line registration.  Registration is handled through third-party software and an account must be established. 
  • If you registered last year, please use your existing username and password.  Your account is tied to the Primary Account holder's email address.  The Primary Account holder is the person that did the online registration last year and is listed as Parent/Guardian 1.
  • If you do not remember your username and password, please click the I Forgot my account information button and your information will be emailed to you quickly. If you have problems contact the SYFA Registrar:registrar@sherwoodyouthfootball.com
  • Follow the instructions and fill in all required fields.  If you have problems, more detailed instructions about the TVYFL on-line registration process are in:  TVYFL On-Line Registration Instructions.
• Once you complete on-line registration, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the TVYFL Player Contract and the TVYFL Approved Medical Release attached.  The SYFA Expectations Contract is included as a link in the e-mail.  If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, you may need to check your spam or junk mail folder.
• Be sure to print the documents required to complete registration:  the TVYFL Player Contract, the TVYFL Approved Medical Release, and the SYFA Expectations Contract.  The completed forms must be received by June 15th along with the $75 payment. 
• All forms should be mailed to SYFA, PO Box 92, Sherwood, OR, 97140.  If you cannot print the forms, contact the SYFA Registrar, Amy Whitely (503-610-1451; registrar@sherwoodyouthfootball.com).

Paper Registration Instructions

Print a copy of the Paper Registration form, or contact the SYFA Registrar, Amy Whitely (503-610-1451; registrar@sherwoodyouthfootball.com).

• Complete and sign the paper registration form.  Mail to: SYFA, PO Box 92, Sherwood, OR  97140.  Be sure to include check for $75 made payable to SYFA.  Note: Paper registration forms received before April 14, 2011 will be date-stamped on April 14, 2011.
• To complete registration, you must complete, sign and submit the TVYFL Player Contract, the TVYFL Approved Medical Release , and the SYFA Expectations Contract by June 15th.  All forms should be mailed to SYFA, PO Box 92, Sherwood, OR, 97140.  If you cannot print the forms from our website, contact the SYFA Registrar, Amy Whitely (503-610-1451; registrar@sherwoodyouthfootball.com).
• Once we receive the paper registration form, we will enter your data into our database.  We will provide a TVYFL Player Contract with your information filled in.  You will need to read, sign and return the contract by June 15th along with the other required documents.  We will also provide a copy of the SYFA Expectations Contract.  Please read carefully before signing and returning Page 8.  Keep the other pages for your records (do not return it to us).
